RAMEN TRIP (麺遊紀) is a ramen-focused gourmet app that lets you discover ramen shops across Japan with the "radar", "seal" the bowls you've eaten to build your own personal archive, and compete with other Sealers in a 3-month seasonal "HEAT Ranking" powered by AI analysis reports. Searching, recording, and supporting shops — all in one app.
RAMEN TRIP runs on iPhone with iOS 15.1 or later, and on Android devices with Android 8.0 (API level 25) or later. It is designed specifically for iPhone, so the experience on tablets such as iPad is not optimized. The app is available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
The catalog covers all of Japan (all 47 prefectures). The app itself launches from overseas and you can still search and browse Japanese ramen shops, but location-based features such as radar scanning and proximity alerts are designed for use within Japan.
RAMEN TRIP supports Japanese and English. Not only the UI, but also the AI analysis reports and the automatic translation of reviews (comm logs) posted by other Sealers switch according to your language setting.
A feature that pins nearby ramen shops on a map centered on your current location. Unlike list-based search apps, it lets you intuitively grasp "which direction and how many shops" from where you are. You can filter by distance (1/3/5/10 km), genre, or prefecture. It also sends a "proximity alert" when you pass near an unsealed shop, and a "hot shop alert" when you approach a trending one.
Sealing records a shop you've eaten at into your personal archive in a single tap. Dubbed the "position verification protocol", a seal is triggered only when you come within a 50-meter radius of the shop, limited to once per day. Each seal stores the visit date, rating, noodle genre, and notes. Every five seals form "one bowl", and you choose the next bowl from 27 genres to expand your collection — a gamified progression.
A ranking that normalizes the momentum of shops and Sealers into a proprietary "HEAT" score from 0 to 100 and competes in 3-month seasons. The score is calculated by weighting four signals: shop rating, popularity, recent seals, and supporting toppings. Genre-specific rankings are also available — the free tier shows the top 10, while the Syndicate Executive License unlocks the full list.
The report summarizes the reviews accumulated for a shop using AI, so you can grasp its characteristics and tendencies in a single read. A crowd forecast chart (Popular Times) also shows peak and off-peak hours, helping you plan smarter visits.
